    So disappointed

Let me start by saying we ended up not staying there overnight. We rolled in with our car and tents and were extremely disappointed with the facilities. The place is filled with long term campers, as in 20 years. Campers seemed to be a bit more permanent than a "camper" should be. As tent campers, we would have been forced in between the large campers. When we booked the site, we went off the web site. The pictures on the web site are not indicative of the way the campground looks now. We decided to move to another campground 40 minutes away which ended up having much better accommodations and had a great time(Naylor's Beach). Since we paid over the phone earlier in the same day to make sure we got a reservation, we asked for our money to be refunded to us. The woman was very rude to us and kept stating that the policy there is that you lose a day if you cancel outside of 7 days before your reservation otherwise you lose everything. This of course didn't seem fair especially since we reserved on the same day. I explained to her that she could give us our money back or we will dispute with our credit card over misrepresentation of their product. My point was to give us our money back, rent to someone else, take their money or keep our money, lose the ability to rent our sites, and lose that money in a dispute. She just stated their policy again. We are now in a dispute with our credit card company and now they will get nothing. DO NOT GO THERE IF YOU ARE IN CAMPING IN A TENT.

    Worse campground

This by far was the worse experience I have ever had at a campground. The owner Rose aka Peaches has the worse attitude I have ever experienced in my life. She claimed to have had electrical upgrades as we showed her my conversion adaptor from 30amp to 50amp burned. So on top of having to buy a new adaptor I have to replace my cord to my camper. Thank God my camper didn't burn to the ground and all she said was my campground didn't do that. She is so rude and all she had to say was she was 68 and ready to retire well PEACHES I think you need to. Don't worry about the safety of your campers. The great friends we were camping with had kids that were treated like crap and stalked didn't let them do anything but let the locals do as they please. So many rules you couldn't keep up with them. Basically we had to stay at our camp site but yet she wants us to have fun. No pool for the kids. She allows tent camping beside campers. Now let me ask you where do you think those tent campers used the bath room? Yep right beside my friends $30,000 Plus camper. Do you think peaches (ROSE) did anything about that, NOPE. We will NEVER return. I advise you to not go to this campground you will waste your time and money.

    Stay Away!!

My family had our first and last visit to Rainbow Acres Campground recently. Don't waste your time or money at this place. It needs lots of improvements (i.e. pot holes everywhere, sites with sand/dirt instead of grass) and there's virtually nothing for kids to do. They have no pool and kids are constantly monitored over everything. No bike riding after dark - period- doesn't matter if you have headlights - your kid will be told to get off their bike by the nightly "patrol". We had visitors for one day that were harassed by the owner on her golf cart as soon as they arrived about paying $10.00 to visit. Hope they use that $10.00 towards the "we really need a pool" fund. It's no surprise they were the only campground in VA that had many openings on a holiday weekend - we found out why and won't return. Campers beware!!!!
