The name "Wine Country RV Park" is slightly deceiving. The RV park is no where near wineries. The actual "wine country" is about a 30 minute drive north to Healdsburg. If you think you're parking your RV and expect to overlook beautiful vineyards, let this serve as your fair warning. This park is situated in the middle of Rohnert Park, about a mile away from Sonoma State University, and the only thing you are overlooking is a fence and nearby apartments. The park is mostly made up of full time residents in run down campers. While most of the full-timers are sequestered in the back part of the park, there are a few full timers right as you pull in, which is the first sight you are greeted with upon entry. The sites were spacious enough, there are wine barrels with planted flowers which was a nice touch. The park host was very friendly and helpful. Restrooms were clean. Did not use laundry facilities. Getting out was quite a challenge with low hanging branches and tight corners. We needed assistance from a fellow park visitor in order to maneuver our 40' coach. Can walk to a small market/deli about a block away. Wi-Fi worked well / cable did not. By no means is this a destination park. Stay here only if you're passing through town for a couple of nights max.

We stayed 3 nights -- nice sites, clean park -- really enjoyed walking to all the wineries just down the street !! Toured the area and found Chukar Cherries -- you must go there as the varieties of chocolate coated cherries are something else ... would go to this park again but we did have some wind so don't leave awnings unattended ...
