As Pres of a Rv Chapter, FMCA Board.....IF EVERY Rv Park was run as well as this one.... we would ALL be happy !! Never any problem. Staff bends over backwards.. calls to assure arrival... try to furnish best spot for you. We use 4-6 times a year and cannot imagine anyone being unhappy at Sunset Point. Lovely staff and management.

Sunset Point, on Lake LBJ, lives up to its name. Some sites back up directly to the lake while all sites have lake view. There are a few delux motor coach spaces with beautiful appointments--builtin gas grill, sink, large patio and round table with for chairs. Camp was very quiet when we were there but in the summer kids can swim in the lake and enjoy themselves on the green belts. Restrooms extremely nice--toilet and shower all in one.

We thought the park was beautiful, from the time we set the parking brake. The view is just like the pictures. We treated ourselves to one of the only three the luxury sites ($75/night) which is on the waterfront that has sweeping views of the lake and the site included (as advertised) at built in rock walled complete outdoor BBQ area with sink. Would have given this park 5 stars but here are two major flaws that will keep us from not recommending this park to friends and family. 1) The WIFI is clearly unusable. We are advanced users and all we require is a steady connection. Its not unreasonable to expect a reliable WIFI connection (as advertised) taking into considering the high rates that Sunset Point on Lake LBJ RV park charges. 2) Being full timers, on our first day we were thrilled to have such a beautiful attached outdoor area to BBQ and relax. Come to find out that the BBQ was missing the grill and propane necessary to operate the BBQ...so we called the front desk and much to our disappointment they told us that in order to use the BBQ we needed to cough up an addition $50 dollars. Most individuals who are paying a premium of $75 per night are typically not the type to do $50 dollars of cleaning damage to an outdoor BBQ area. Furthermore, why not just charge a understandable REFUNDABLE deposit for use of the attached BBQ area and if it is not a cleaned then you do not get your deposit returned. Needless to say we stared at our beautiful $75 a night attached BBQ outdoor area and used our own BBQ. We could not justify the price considering we were only staying 5 nights, and $50 dollars is two nights out to dinner. Also, the park use of leaf blowers was excessive!! I personally think leaf blowers should be banned....not only are they a loud nuisance, they are inefficient and are not a good use of the earths resources. Not one person in the park said Hello, not a one.

Management Response
Angie: Thank-you for your recent survey of Sunset Point RV Resort. To address your WIFI concerns: Unfortunately, during your stay the company that provides our signal "into" the Park had a tower down that severly effected the signal to Tengo and therefore throughout the Park. Having said that there is a limit as to the bytes allowed for each site. This is done to assure all guest in the Park have access to the internet while with us. Please accept our aplogy for the inconvience this may have caused. Concering the leaf blower. All leaf blowing in the Campground should start no earlier than 10 AM and be completed by 12 PM. After reading your review I have taken the necessary steps to assure this rule is adhered to. Concerning the grill use: The Campground policy is indeed a $50.00 fee if the guest is staying with us less than 7 days. Guest are allowed use their own grill should they so choose. We have tried the deposit suggestion and several others also. Without getting into specifics we have found the one time charge best fits the needs of the guest and the Park. However, this policy "is not" set in stone and if I would have been made aware during your stay I can assure you the policy would have been waved for your 5 day stay. We want our all our guest to leave Sunset Point having a GREAT camping ecperience and hope you will stay with us once again. I also hope you will reconsider and recommend Sunset Point to all of your friends and family. Respectfully, Ed Robinson Manager Sunsest Point RV Resort

The Best RV Park

Sunset Point at Lake LBJ is a wonderful RV park. The management and work campers are welcoming, caring and helpful. The park is beautifully maintained. The sites are large, comfortable, flat, concrete and well designed and all are lighted. The park is gated and gives a real feeling of security and safety. The park is extremely animal friendly which is a huge plus in this day and age. There is not a site where the beautiful view of the lake cannot be seen. There is a swimming area that is roped off - but you can actually swim just about any where since the park is on a small peninsula into the lake. There is a lovely granite area that you can walk and have privacy and will take you out to a beautiful view of Lake LBJ. The bath house is spotless at all times. The recreation room has a table and chairs to play games with your friends, a walking and biking machine and TV to watch. It is always spotless as well. There is a lovely boat ramp and space is provided to keep your boats as well. There is no swimming pool and it is out aways from town. It is absolutely quiet, peaceful and beautiful. There are some premium spots that are right on the water with extra patio amenities. The people that stayed there were enjoyable to be around but the staff is what made it such a great place. There are many nice areas around the Texas Hill Country to enjoy during an easy day trip. There is internet that is limited daily but seemed substantial for most needs. Walking around the park always revealed birds, water fowl, deer and occasional wild creature or two. Although I don't fish, one of the fish frys we had was all lake caught fish and was wonderful. It is a great place for winter snowbirds and everyone seems to bond and do things together. I spent much of the last two years returning to the park. It is an absolutely premier place to stay if you aren't wanting a lot of socially prepared activities. This is park I hope to return to over and over.
