Description

Bring your appetite to Skokomish Park at Lake Cushman--for salmon and trout, shellfish and for adventure. The Washington park, near Hoodsport, lies on 41,500 feet of shoreline on the clear blue lake and within miles of some of the most popular features of the magnificent Olympic National Forest and Olympic National Park. Select one of 80 RV or tent sites for your special vacation using the online reservation system. It's safe, secure and ready-to-go when you are.

Encircled by forest, water and mountains, Skokomish Park on Lake Cushman embraces the natural elements. Three boat-launch ramps and easy access to the water result in hours of fun fishing, boating, water skiing, snorkeling and kayaking. Indulge in some shellfish you dig yourself at Hood Canal, the only saltwater fjord in the lower 48 states. The chance to see wolf eels, octopus and other underwater creatures encourages scuba divers to take the plunge. How fast can a shucker shuck oysters? Find out at the annual OysterFest in Shelton, scene of the West Coast Oyster Shucking Championships. If you're in the audience, you can dine on the results.

Chose a trail that fits your fitness level when exploring the Olympic national park and forest. Depending on where you might wander, you'll see anything from tiny flowers to giant trees to mountain vistas. Within the forest, the High Steel Bridge rises 420 feet above the Skokomish River, a remnant of a logging railroad. The towns of Hoodsport, Shelton, Skokomish and Union offer their own unique charms, shops and events. For entertainment, see if the slots are hot for you at the Lucky Dog Casino. After a recent remodeling, the gaming machines are the most fun and up-to-date. Whether you win a jackpot or not, a vacation at Skokomish Park at Lake Cushman is always a win-win situation.

Great site. Lots of space to move around in a 36ft unit. Well marked. Plenty of privacy and silence. Perfect for our needs.

Wooded campground, wonderful for fall visit. We were in a Full Hookup site, a nice pull-through with large grassy area and picnic table. The hookups were well placed. We walked the roads and trails, enjoying the fall colors. This campground is clean and well maintained. This time of year, there were few campers so it was very tranquil. We will definitely return - especially in the "off season".

This is our 2nd time staying. The park is beautiful, there's a lot to do. A lot of great places to hike. We had a great camp site, a lot of room to hang out with friends and play games. For dinners we have themed pot lucks, it's a lot of fun. The bathrooms are very toasty! The park is clean and beautiful.
