Located just off of I-55 and Route 111 in Fairmont City, Illinois, the campground offers spacious, well manicured RV sites with full hookups and provides an online reservation system to make planning your trip as easy as possible. At Safari RV, your safety and comfort are a priority, and we will assist you in any way we can to make sure your stay is a pleasant one.

When you are ready to venture off-site, St. Louis offers non-stop attractions and fun, and is just a ten minute drive from the RV park. World class restaurants, shopping and entertainment venues await, and of course, sporting fans will love to attend a Cardinals baseball or Rams football game when possible. Just two miles from the campground, the Gateway International Raceway is the place to go to watch NASCAR stars battle for the checkered flag.

The historical sites of St. Louis are varied and interesting, such as the Gateway Arch, the world famous landmark on the shores of the Mississippi River, with frequent tours that take visitors to the observation deck and reveal fantastic views. Another great day trip is to Cahokia Mounds, another short drive from the campground, where the remains of a sophisticated prehistoric native civilization have been uncovered. Whether exploring all that the St. Louis area has to offer or enjoying the peace and quiet of your RV campsite, Safari RV is sure to become your Midwestern home away from home.

Made reservations online. No one was available to check me in only a sign on the office door saying to find a spot and check with Lisa later. (never did see her} Office open from 3-5 only. I have a 42ft motorhome. I had to turn around at the end of the drive by the check in, to back down the driveway to the sites and park at an angle to fit without blocking the road, but for the money it was clean quiet and a place with full hookups for 22.50 with escapers discount 25.00 without. They have a shower house, and Laundry too that I didn't use, but looked nice. For no frills it's a great deal and I would stay here again and did for an extra night. Metro link Parking is close by, but wouldn't use that one after dark though, didn't feel that safe, and the neighborhood to get there was questionable. I wouldn't stop for gas there.

Safari RV Park is OK

We arrived about noon only to discover that the office was only open for an hour or so each day. So, we parked ourselves. While the park does have full hook-ups, there were all types of cable wires hanging around. It gave the look of dis-repair even though the cable wires were not active. The park is the only park close to our relatives and we will use it again. The laundry and bathrooms were in excellent condition and were recently built. The sites were mostly gravel and level. It's a small park and looks like they have several full time people living there. There are no extra amenities at this park. It's simply a place to park your RV while you visit family and friends in the St. Louis area.
