Great Memorial Weekend
0 % of users found this review helpful
My family and I stay at Paradise Camping Resort for first time over Memorial Day weekend 2011. The park was extremely clean and well taken care of. All the activities were awsome and they even pushed some back to get them in after the rain poured on Sunday. The owners were very Friendly and staff went out of their way to make us feel like part of their family. We definitely will return. I rate thi park as one of best we have stayed at in Illinois.

Great weekend destination!

We (two humans and two dogs) had a wonderful weekend at Paridise RV Resort during the Memorial Day weekend. Had a great time reacquainting ourselves with friends. The CG was alive, but quiet, the staff and neighbors were most friendly.
I was impressed with the activities that were arranged and delighted to learn that each weekend many events are held. The neighbors seemed a combination of weekenders like us and full time residents. The grounds were well kept and neat. Lots of children playing in the day and afternoon; evenings became quiet.
A couple of cautions, there is a low area that became pretty muddy after a full day's heavy rain. This was an incredibly heavy rain, but it could cause a problem if a big rig was parked in that area. I was told by full time residents that the train comes by several times a day (and night) but it didn't seem to be operating over Memorial Day weekend. The tracks border the south edge of the CG.
This is a big CG with a 'swimming hole" lake and nice grounds to walk your pets. Highly recommend it if you're in north central Illinois and are looking for a nice stopover for a few days.
Only squawk I had was that they had a three-day minimum rate for the Memorial Day weekend. I had only two nights that I could stay but had to pay for three. It made it a little pricey for me, but I still enjoyed the stay.

This was an awesome place however since it was handed down to the kids it is not in as good of shape. We used to love going here. It is still okay, but not as much fun as before.

We stayed at Paradise last June for the first time, and returned numerous times during the summer and fall season. This year we became seasonal campers at Paradise and are extremely happy with all the help and friendly people here!!
