Mommy & Me Camp Out

We used a tent and our campsite had nice shade and a soft ground. We had enough room and our guests were welcome to come and go safely as long as we shuttled them to and from the front gate. We felt very safe at all times. There was so much to do we were never bored and we had ten children between the ages of 5 and 1! It was a great experience and one we will always cherish!

This was a surprisingly nice and fun place to camp. We were close to the beach so we could walk there for short stays.

Our First Camping Trip

Bought a camper at a steal and took off to Ocean Lakes. Didn't even make a trial run before heading off 220 miles to Ocean Lakes. Made the trip without any problems and check-in was a breeze. Got to our campsite and set up for our 8 day stay. If you want to make friends at Ocean Lakes just build a campfire and drag out a few extra chairs. Before long we were sitting out by the fire on a crisp October night with other campers exchanging stories. Well we had a few quiet nights before the Halloween fun began. Our daughter and son came in on Friday night to join in the Halloween fun. On Saturday we were so busy with all the Halloween activities, costume contest, pumpkin carving contest, scavenger hunt and many others that we hardly had time to fix anything to eat so we grabbed a delicious cheeseburger and onions rings for dinner at Sandy's Meet and Eat. Their onions rings are to die for. Then we headed out for trick or treating with our grandson. There were so many generous campers giving out candy that our 6 year old grandson got tired before he went to all that were giving out candy. We enjoyed riding on the golf car and looking at the many decorated campsites while letting him trick or treat. We got back to the campsite and enjoyed building a campfire while my daughter took her son to the Monster Bash dance at the recreation center. On Sunday we enjoyed fishing, feeding the ducks, and riding on the golf car with our grandson. Well you know what they say ... all good things must come to an end ... but it won't be long before they will be hearing us say ... I'M BACK. I guess you might say "not bad for our first camping trip".
