We were given a site that was in the parking lot bathroom. We were not allowed to set up chairs or put our Awning out on our camper because our site was a road for the campers behind us. Our picnic table was in weeds and we were not allowd to use it either because it would be in the roadway. They also charge you extra for everything. We had to check out a day early because it was raining and we were not allowed to put up the awning or a pop tent to keep us out of the rain. They adverstise they are close to Gettysburg which is a lie because I don't consider Gettysburg being close 45 mins away. They claim DC is a nearby attraction which is an hour and half away. The Staff is very Rude and not friendly. Save your money and stay away from this place

This place continues to go down hill. The rules are quite unrealistic. The pools hours are terrible on holiday weekends. I have been going camping here on and off for years. The original owners and founders were very nice people and made you feel like value customers. The new staff is quite rude and unfriendly. The golfing and tennis courts are run down. Many years ago there ways entertainment ever weekend and now there is barely something monthly. They don't allow more than 6 people per campsite. The campground was a KOA, but I can see why it doesn't have that distinction anymore. This place is not worth your visit.

I will never have a good word to say about this campground. I tried to make reservations in May for us and another couple for August. I was told that they do not allow Pit Bulls because of Maryland State Law. Lorraine and I got into a pretty heated argument about the situation and I ended up canceling the reservation. I was so angry that they would discriminate against a specific breed that I researched Maryland legislature on the issue. In April the Governor signed a law that should have changed Merry Meadows policy. I emailed it to them but never heard back. Fast forward to 07/27/14. We were camping w/our friends, the weekend we would have been at Merry Meadows. I received a message from Lorraine at night that my friend never canceled her reservation and she had 15 minutes to show up or my credit card would be charged the nightly fee. I didn't get the message until after they closed so I left a message for them saying that both reservations were canceled. The next morning another woman called me and was very nice about the situation, she said not to worry that the reservation was canceled. About 30 minutes later Lorraine called me back and said that since my friend never showed up they were charging my credit card. I argued w/her that both reservations were canceled. She said no I specifically remember our conversation and you only canceled your reservation. I said why would my friend want to come to your campground if we couldn't come because of our dogs???? She said that happens all the time. Why in God's name would I have made the reservations for both of us, used my credit card, then canceled and she thought that my friend was still coming. Lorraine proceeded to harass me about the situation, relentlessly arguing that I should pay the nightly fee. I finally said look, I am tired of this harassment, just charge the card, I was tired of her ruining my camping weekend w/my friends. I also told her that I was reporting her to every agency that I could, at that point she hung up. I would never ever recommend this campground, even if it was the last one around. Beware, rude, harassing, relentless staff work there!
