Highly recommend Misty River campground

The bath facilities here are the best I've ever seen at a campsite, whether private, state or federally operated. It's like camping, but with individual hotel-style bathrooms in the bath house, which are large and clean, and have a walk-in shower, room to store your clothes so they don't get wet, a sink and a toilet, and a door that locks, to assure complete privacy and safety. Absolutely outstanding. The campgrounds are well maintained, and my site is equipped with water and a choice of electric outlets. There's a large field, with a gravel road, away from the campground to walk my dog without annoying other campers, or setting off barking among the campsite pet population. We've only been here a few days. The bug population is almost non-existant. It would be nice to have more shade for the campsites, but other than that, if I could have one wish, it would be for a temperature-controlled climate! Knoxville in the early summer, not at all surprisingly, can be hot and humid! I will be here for a month, and I'm going to put up a tarp for more shade when time allows. I would definitely recommend this campsite to other campers--it is especially well set up for RV's with plenty of drive-through sites. I haven't had a chance to check out the local store or the river, yet. The owners are relaxed and friendly, and very willing to be as accommodating as possible. The drive into Knoxville is an easy commute, and quite beautiful as well.

no control

There seems to be no control as far as guests being considerate about walking thru your site. It was non-stop when the tenters (and there were many- ADULTS and kids) walking thru sites on E row to go to the bath house. It didn't matter that they were occupied they just kept coming and going non-stop.
And then there were the barking dogs. There were dogs barking all the time. Most of the owners were with them and didn't stop them. A few left their dogs so that EVERY time we went outside the dogs would bark at us. Very annoying.
It was very nice 2 yrs ago when we were here. Not sure whats happening now? But I can't recommend the campground to anyone unless they like barking dogs and people walking across your space.
