Staff Behaves Like Government Workers

We reserved a space for 3 nights. Upon arrival we asked for a space facing the water and were told that none were available. Most remained vacant during our stay but we were not allowed to move. Freinds of ours called to reserve a space and were told they were full. We asked at the office why when there were only a hand full of RV's in the park were our freinds turned away? We were told that there was a holiday coming and they were full. We were there mid week with no intention of staying for the holiday. If you don't leave the park right at check out time they will call you or send someone to your coach to ask you when you are leaving. Not ask if you want to extend but basically tell you to leave. Even though the park was about 90% vacant one night 2 RV's arrived and they were told to park right next to us and just behind us. You would think with all of the available spaces the staff would want to provide all of us with some space and privacy. But no. I guess it is easier to come by in the morning and tell people to leave if we are all parked close to each other. The manager sets the tone for the staff, she is rude, arrogant and has not concept of hospitality. This place is a turd and so is the staff.

Great Site, even without a car easy to get downtown by bus line 30. Mission bay is cool for all kinds of water sports or walking/running. Only negative is the very slow wireless network.

We enjoy coming to this park because the management does a great job of keeping it clean, and secure. We have been coming here for the last 6 years and spend 2 months. We rate this park a 10 and its due to the park managers they care about their guests, they work hard at making guest stay an enjoyable one.

Loved the location. Close to Sea World and the Beaches.
We plan to return for a week next year at same time. We will bring bikes and roller skates to enjoy the awesome 3.5 mile bike/walk trail

My stay

Dissapointed with the bathrooms, very old and spartan. Were cleaned regularily however. Manager at checkin was gruff, as if he did not want to be there. Not friendly at all. Liked the location. Had to drive every where but expected that.

Mission Bay RV Resort is conveniently located on the water and is close to all attractions and whatever San Diego has to offer. They are accommodating and their park is very clean and well kept and secure.

great experience

This park is well located and the facilities are nice and clean. Obviously the restrooms are older but they are well kept and I never had any problems, used the shower daily while my son was napping in our coach, I just kept my flip flops on. Security patrolled constantly and the whole place is gated so that's great. We rented a fire pit every night, just be aware that you need to COVER your firewood if you leave it outside, the dew can make your firewood quite hard to burn! They also some RV essentials such as tank treatments, sewer hoses, etc. in the office, and sell ice for 2.50 an 8lb/bag in the office and at the "snack shack". the mission bay park starts literally just outside the gates, and you can bike all the way up the coast of the bay on a nice bike path with restrooms and playgrounds interspersed throughout. And you are 10-15 minutes away from nearly every San Diego attraction - only like 5 minutes from Sea World! All in all this park is a great value and we will return again for sure!

our September campout
0 % of users found this review helpful
My husband and I hosted the monthly campout for 20 rigs in our motorhome club at Mission Bay RV Resort in September. It is located on Mission Bay, you can see the bay on two sides of the park. It is also a cool relief from the inland temperatures.
We had to reserve our 20 sites a year ahead of time. It was a lot of planning for me to arrange a theme and cooking assignments for members and activities. The one thing that was so simple was dealing with the RV park at Mission Bay. Kendra was so helpful. It was wonderful to deal just with her and have all my questions answered.
The campout worked smoothly, the campground was safe and well lit. It was clean and the people were friendly.
Our Saturday night dinner, set up in the communal site close to our 20 motorhomes, became a tajmahall with our easy up tents and picnic tables covered in tablecloths and soft lighting. The laughter of 41 happy people could be heard from about 6pm to 8 pm, as the the bean bag game followed dinner. Later there was a request for quiet as some of the members' noise was too loud and too late outside. There were no hard feelings. Reminders are good.
There was a lot of paperwork to fill out and there were a lot of regulations. When it was all finished that seemed to be such a minor thing, we booked another weekend for 2013.
The club will be happy to return.
