Our Magnolia Park Adventure

We pulled in Sunday evening planning on just an overnight stay only to discover that our trailer brakes were malfunctioning. Needless to say we weren't heading for the Smokies until we were sure we weren't going to fall off one of the mountains! Gary and Marcia couldn't have been nicer or more accomodating. There was no problem with our extending our stay and they provided a referral to, as it turned out, an extremely competent mobile RV repair person, Pat Cobb. They also recommended a great place for dinner (in fact, we liked it so much we went two nights in a row), helped us get to the Ford dealer since we weren't sure at first whether or not it was a problem with the tow vehicle, and it turned out that we had some old friends in common - small world. We never felt pressured to leave, to pay, to inform them of our plans but instead waited for us to come to them each day with our progress. This will be our regular stop from now on between our home in West Palm Beach, FL and our summer adventures in TN & NC. Oh, and the grounds were lovely and beautifully maintained. A great camping experience!

Magnolia convenience

This RV park was very accomodating and convenient for a recent business trip to Newberry, SC. Our only hiccup was that the address entered into our GPS did not take us to the right spot, we were about a half mile short. A better address or GPS coordinates would improve that. The site was clean, easy to hookup and the people were very nice.

We enjoy staying at Magnolia Campground. The cabin is a good value. We do not have a camper but the grounds for the campers look nice. The cabin is small but sleeps 3 nicely. Mini fridge, plug in heater, window A/C, ceiling fan. Real log cabin with some cracks allowing outside air, etc. into cabin. Good cabin for "the guys". No bathroom in cabin. Nice bathroom/showers onsite. They just refurbished the mens bathroom. The ladies restroom probably redone too just didn't peek in to see.

Spent the night here while enoute to Florida. I was riding a motorcycle towing a pop-up camper. The site assigned was too uneven for my camper, and I was given my choice of several others. Restroom/shower facilities were very clean and smoke free. The campground is located close to I-26, and you can hear the big trucks, but you don't feel like you need to open the door to let them thru!

This campground is slightly more than half way between our Winter campground in Florida and home in Tennessee. It is very handy for us to stop there in one of the pull through sites on our way home. Staff is courterous and helpful. Campground and Facilities are always clean.

Under Attack?

This is a nice clean economy campground. Close to the freeway with easy access. Every was fine until about eight o'clock at night. Then the gunfire started. It was from somewhere close to the campground. Several hundred shots were fired of multiple caliper over the course of about 20 minutes. I don't know if it was a shooting range or just a bunch of rednecks acting stupid. I have to think this is a normal occurance at the campground or authorities would have been summoned. My wife became quite upset, especially in light of recent news events. The camp staff really dropped the ball by not telling us in advance that this could happen, and if they did not know they should have researched it and reassurred us it was not dangerous.

Management Response
I have read your review of our park and apologize about the gunfire, we do in fact call the police when it occurs but the laws in the county are not very strict regarding guns and the discharging of them. We have been taking steps towards rectifying this but it is an up hill battle. There is also the fact that when we do call, the gunfire seems to stop so that when the police do arrive (it takes time as there are more pressing matters to them than some yahoo shooting his gun) there is nothing for them to hear, I suspect that my neighbors have a scanner and know when the police are coming. We never know when my neighbor will shoot his gun(s) so it's a surprise to us as well when he does. We are sorry that it upset you and your wife, had something sinister been happening we surely would have notified everyone in the park. Thank you Gary

Good Stopover Campground

We only stayed two days as a stopover to another campground. Typical PassPort America campground. There were level, pull thru sites & 2 days free WiFi, but that's about it...nothing to do, nothing to see.
