Description

Strike it rich in outdoor experiences at Lodgepole Campground in Northern California's amazing Placer County. The campground, with 35 spaces, is located on the Lake Valley Reservoir shoreline amongst boulders and conifers. Online reservations can be booked to take advantage of the fishing, swimming and boating on the calm waters. The boating speed limit is under 10 miles per hour, which rules out waterskiing but benefits anglers. A trailhead from camp leads south up Monumental Ridge and to Monumental Creek, which is three miles away. Sites accommodate RVs up to 30 feet and provide picnic tables, fire grill, drinking water and vault toilets. Nearby Emigrant Gap is the historical mountain opening that led travelers to seek their fortunes in the gold fields. Lodgepole Campground is part of Pacific Gas and Electric Co.'s recreation area that stretches from Donner Summit to Auburn.

Directions:    Take Yuba Gap exit from I-80 0.4 mile, turn right toward Lake Valley Reservoir and go 2.7 miles to camp.

Great family camping. Shady. Clean. Great biking for our kids. The reservoir picnic area is sweet. We loved it so much we came back 2 weeks later.
