Experience Durango

This was our first visit to Durango. We selected Lightner Creek based on its access to all the outdoor activities in the area. We stayed in a cabin and had all the ameneties of home provided for us. The closeness of the other campers was not a problem. Everyone was very nice and respectful. The owners are on the property and make you feel welcome at all times. They were helpful in every way to make our stay the most enjoyable experience for ourselves and our kids. It was nice that our kids could bike, roam in the creek and explore without having to worry about them. The campgroung was very clean and thoroughly maintained. We will stay longer than a week next summer.

This was our second, multi-day stay at Lightner Creek. It's one of our favorite campgrounds! It's set up well for tents as well RV's. Clean, friendly, quiet, wifi, plenty of shade trees and convenient location. Easy access to all that Durango has to offer: hiking, biking, tubing, great dinning, and browsing. We'll definitely stay again when we return.

Overall great experience! Sites: small gravel, little grass, roomy but close to next site, picnic table, very shady, no view of mountains, has creek which is not to be confused with a river that has fish, no campfires (bummer), W/S/E Bathrooms: Very clean, seperate shower and toliet Amenieties: Has pool and looked clean but did not use it. Other: Didn't see any wildlife, and furthermore didn't see any bugs (misquitos or lightening. No wifi, Sprint worked good but ATT did not. Was close enough to town to drive in, yet we felt like we were many miles away. It was very quite, and from my research seemed to be exactly what we needed.

Comfortable Stop

Lightner Creek was our final stop in our Colorado family vacation and was clean and comfortable. It was tucked away off of the main road and felt somewhat private. The staff was very accessible. We wish we would've had more time to fish more in the creek!
