Not too happy with the cottage

I was so looking forward to having a great place to stay. When we arrived a 3 am, we were shocked to see roaches crawling on the wall and even one in the refrigerator. The musty smell was overwhelming, and the windows were sealed shut so you couldn't even open the windows for fresh air. After a restless night of sleep, I contacted the office and they sent their cleaning lady to our cottage. She had many excuses for why the cabin had not been aired out such as they have had a lot of rain, and no one had rented it in weeks, so it had been closed up, and her dog was so sick that she couldn't get there to do her job. The management sent some kind of machine to try and clean the air, but it didn't really do much good. Supposedly an exterminator came, but we were gone during the day and there was no indication they were there. We would of preferred to move to a hotel, but that wasn't an option for us. The positive thing was that it was close to the event we were attending and the view of the lake was nice.

Our site was lakefront with immediate access to the water which was beautiful. The staff were professional and personable. We missed dining at the restaurant as it was closed due to a water leak. I do wish that a water spigot would have been available at the dump station, for final cleaning, since full hook ups are not available at this campground.

We came from a 30 day stay at another local campground. I have to say this place was a let down. We need a 50 amp and they only have 2 of these available. At first i thought they didnt have any. Every time i dried my hair the breaker flipped and i had to go outside to flip it back. It rained a LOT and the place was a mudhole. There is a one lane road in and out that turns to gravel with lots of mud holes. The water pressure was different hour to hour and sometimes we had no water at all. There is no cable hook up. On a brighter note u have a decent view of the lake from most sites

septic system needs major repairs or replacement, management needs to be more serious, my daughter informed them twice that it was leaking in the cabin area. One dryer did not operate right, the lady in charge of housekeeping said well its touchy. wrong answer; repair it or replace it. Management said that you can use the internet at the office, that is if you want to listen to the moron named mark who is a boat salesman blasting his music. Its a shame. The area is pretty and the people are friendly
