The things I liked the river and the greenry. the things I did not, Manager is very unrefinement and Nichol very rude and insolentness. Park needs improvement first off in that area. Hire some one with more positive guest relations. We would have stayed a second night, but when we asked to get propane no one was around to provide it. I could not help notice the sent of alcohol coming from one of the men in the office talking with management and to be wearing what looked like a employee shirt. I only assume that as the manager had one on herself that said High Sierra down the side. Another dislike no shade. Although I had read previous reviews one being from a peggycroce that stated they would have trees by 2012. well it is 2013 and still no shade. bring your own and if you like sitting on your neighbors lap, get to know them good and you are close with no privacy. at least in a walmart parking lot you have more privacy and are further from your neighbor. mold in bathrooms, only 2 toilets per sex through out the hole park, and same with washrooms. I think once the first impression is made over then work on the next. look around or book reservations very early to stay in yosemite.

We stayed here in our 26' trailer last summer while fishing and visiting Yosemite. We were not looking for a country-club atmosphere with structured activities, just a nice, safe, quiet park with clean facilities and reasonable rates. This park filled the bill. The staff were very friendly and helpful, too. Oakhurst is a nice town, too, with some good dining and a scenic location not too far from Yosemite. All in all it was a very positive experience and we highly recommend High Sierra. We'll be back!

The pictures are nothing like what the park is. THe grounds are old and gross. The "swimming hole" is dirty and smells. The stream is stagnant, with mosquitoes all around. This park is a mobile home park stuck in the 60's and by no means a campers paradise.

From the time I made the reservation thru our stay it was an excellent experience. Kathy, Donna and the rest of the staff were outstanding. This was only our second trip in the used Motorhome I just purchased and they were so helpful with questions and when we had an emergency with the coach pointed us to the right service person to resolve the problem, he came to us so we didn't have to unhook, which was great. We did learn that August is a little too hot for our taste, when we go back we'll try late spring or early fall. Oakhurst is the best starting point to visit Yosemite, nothing beats the sights of the South enterance to the park and the drive thru Tunnel Road. For those who like the gift shop experience, Oakhurst has some great little shops. There are also some great places to eat in town. Again, thanks to the staff at High Sierra for making ours a great stay!

This campground seemed questionable at first, when we arrived there was no one available in the office. We had to find our names listed on a reservation board and find our assigned space. After settling in we were able to explore the area around us, other campers were friendly and didn't seem to mind my kiddos riding their bikes in the area. There was a young lady who kept the bathrooms as clean as possible and was courteous when the water shut off due to an accidental mishap that knocked it out for a few hours. Yosemite National Park is a must see and the Sugar pine railroad was fun for the kids. Would stay here again just for the convenience of being in town close enough to shop for any necessary items that we forgot to pack, but at the same time having that camping out in the mountain feel.

This is a DUMP! A gravel parking lot. The pictures on their website must be from another campground. We checked in thinking there was more to the campground, only to find nothing. We checked out immediately! I wouldn't let my dog stay here. Went to the GREAT KOA in Coarsegold!

Quiet, nice little Park in a Great Location

2nd Thanksgiving Holiday spent at High Sierra. Loved it as usual. Pros - Clean, quiet, centrally located to Fresno and Yosemite, Bass Lake and amenities of Oakhurst (movies, restaurants, bowling, outdoor fun, quirky shops), reasonably priced, WiFi, pretty and did I already say Clean? Cons - only one which the park cannot help. Across the river is an industrial company of some sort, you can see the trucks and on a weekday hear them coming and going. Nothing major but if you think you'll be camping in the forest with no civilization around you, this is not the place. It is a stunning 50 minute drive to the Yosemite Valley floor, if that's too far for you, this is also not the place to stay. We look forward to visiting again in the years to come.

Best Campground Experience!

Who knew that RV camping would be sucy fun? From my first call to make our reservation, Larry was cordial, warm, and accomodating. Even though they were nearly sold out, he did his best to find us the perfect spot. Not only did Larry do his best to provide us with a great spot but he also prvided lots of fun and comical aspects to our stay! I think he will be telling some funny stories for a long time to come. We will definitely be back on our next vacation and look forward to seeing Larry again too! If you go there, please make sure to ask Larry about the couple with the 2 little dogs in the Cruise America motorhome....
