We came in late, not knowing that the Blueberry Festival in Machias was such a big event and everything was full. Got our tent site assignment and were told that there was no running water inside the park, showers only certain times of the day and water service just outside the park at one of the ranger outbuildings. Thank goodness we had an empty bucket and a trash can liner! Our site was a walk in, which presented a snag as the mattress needed to be blown up by the car. OK, so stuff the mattress in the tent and then blow. Have to say our site was the prettiest one we've ever stayed at, surrounded by trees with NO visible neighbors. I'd go back in a heartbeat, even with the water situation! Loved the Blueberry Festival!
