Cheryhill was the perfect setting for our first visit to 'the Big City' of D.C. and the Metrobus service was invaluable. All the conveniences of home :)

First visit to Cherry Hill

This was our first time at Cherry Hill. The staff was very pleasant and helpful and the grounds and facilities were neat and clean and very quiet. The pool had some leaves and pollen but not bad. We have a motorhome and did not bring a separate vehicle so it was great that the bus comes right to the campground. It did take us a little longer to get into DC than we expected. The wind blew the entire time we were there so bring a jacket. All in all a great campground, we expect to return next year.

A Monumental Experience

We always like coming to Cherry Hill to have a great camping experience in the DC area. Everyone on the staff is wonderful. The park is one of the nicest on the east coast. We tell all of our friends that they need to come here when visiting Washington.

May 2013 Visit

We just stayed at Cherry Hill Park for 3 nights (May 13-16) and the location is very nice and easy to get to, staff was friendly and helpful, camp sites were clean, fairly level and easy to back into. The Cafe was nice and there were plenty of activities for the kids. We wished we were there longer and during a little warmer time to try out the pool. Washington DC was easy to get to from Cherry Hill. The bus picks you up in the park and takes you right to the train station. We chose to drive to the station since we had the car with us this time. We did have two problems/issues we had were the traffic noise from the highway and heat in the showers. Traffic noise was extremely loud most of the time and I would say we were less then 1 football field away from the highway. There were some trees to help with the noise but, it was very difficult to sleep through and I am a sound sleeper. It takes a lot to wake me. I recommend a barrier of some sort be installed to help deflect the traffic noise. I am sure the management knows about the traffic noise and tries to make up for it with other amenities. We did find that by leaving the AC fan on all night it helped drown out the traffic or was it that we were that tired from walking DC the whole day? LOL Our other issue was the showers, they were clean but, in the morning, it was still between 42-55 degrees and there seemed to be no heat in the shower area. The windows were open and fans were on. With the hot water barely hot it made for a pretty darn cold exit from behind the shower curtain each morning and not the most comfortable of starts to a day. All in all we will stay there again, hopefully longer next time and when it is a little warmer. And hopefully farther away from the traffic noise.

DC experience

We enjoyed our stay at Cherry Hill RV Park in College Park, MD. It was more than we like to spend as full-time RV'rs but very convenient to the Metro stations for subway service to DC. We enjoyed visiting the Inner Harbor, and Fort McHenry had a wonderful presentation as to how the first phrases came to be written of the Star-Spangled Banner, at Baltimore, MD, and the Udvhar-Hazy Air & Space Museum near Dulles airport(we drove to each of these). We walked many miles through DC seeing all of the monuments, Lincoln and Washington monuments are particularly spectacular at night. We saw the changing of the guard at Arlington Cemetary. We also enjoyed the tour and view of the Old Post Office Building. One note-if you're going to purchase the SmartCard Metro pass, fund it in person at a kiosk at any of the Metro stations. We funded it online on Friday night but our funds didn't show up until Tuesday in the system so we lost a couple of days with the SmartCard discount since we ended up purchasing Farecards which cost more to ride the subway.

Cherry Hill Park is a great place to stay while visiting the DC area. We found the presentation on how to navigate buses/Metro and tours to be of great benefit. We took the DC at Night bus tour and really enjoyed it. Management was very helpful each time we had questions. Park is lovely and location is ideal for seeing the DC area.

The management is very kind and helpfull . Perfect expérience to stay kiet or visit washington dc, we do both . I recommanded this place .

my visit at Cherry Hill

The park is a great place to go when visiting the DC area. The park provides alot of information and plenty of travel tips with a much appreciated brief of the campground and the area by staff member "BARB".. The facilities offered are above average and well maintained. WIFI is advertised but unless you are sitting on the office front porch you can't access the internet.. I tried for three days at different times with no sucess. It was brought to the staffs attention but nothing improved. I also made a complaint about constant water on my site,(602) with a puddle always present by my front entry. Nobody ever followed up nor did anyone ever get back to me. Pricing is pretty steep and charging extra for a pull-thru is not high on my list of being "camper friendly" Along with charging more for a pull thru the power connection is located in a very poor location having to pull my camper so far forward in the site that there was no room left to park my tow vehicle. Alot of improvements are scheduled and I think we are paying for them up-front.
