Description

Where the Adirondacks meet Lake Champlain, you'll find Ausable River Campground, one of the prettiest camping spots in New York State. Come discover the Ausable Chasm, a dramatic cleft that was carved in the earth by the Ausable River, originally named Riviere aux Sables, or "sandy river," by French explorers. This is a great place for hiking, mountain biking, swimming, and tubing.

We're located near stunning Whiteface Mountain, not far from the lively city of Plattsburgh, New York. From here, you can take a day-trip north to Montreal, or east to a ferry that will carry you across Lake Champlain to Vermont. Visit Lake Placid, site of the 1980 Winter Olympics, for superb skiing and snow sports.

Our campground and RV park offers RV campsites, cabin rentals, a wilderness camp, and trailer rentals. We have excellent fishing, boating, and wildlife watching. Join us in the Fall for Octoberfest, or at any time of year for hay rides, go carts, and horseshoes. Our online reservation system makes it easy to come camping in the Adirondacks!

The campground was very close to area sightseeing (Ausable Chasm) and an easy drive to Lake Placid and Whiteface Mt. The river was also easily accessible for kayaking/canoeing. Facilities are clean and owners friendly.
